AIDIMME, Technology Institute for Metal processing, Furniture, Wood, Packaging and related industries is a private and non-profit association whose purpose is to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of industrial companies, fundamentally in the field of product design and development, innovative materials, advanced and sustainable supply, manufacturing, logistics, distribution and service processes. With +600 associated companies and +40 years of experience, AIDIMME performs very efficient research, high quality technological development and innovation work.

On average, AIDIMME coordinates or participates as partner in +60 R&D projects annually. Its research and development target 9 strategic areas: circular economy, product development, advanced application of materials, toxicity of materials, biomaterials, additive manufacturing, industry 4.0, modified surfaces and packaging systems.

Asociación Empresarial de Research Centro Tecnológico de la Construction Region of Murcia (CTCON) is a private and non-profit business association whose fundamental objective is the development of any activity aimed at advancing technology, quality, competitiveness and the expansion of the construction sector and related industries.

Since its creation in 2003, CTCON has contributed to the technological development and competitiveness of the business fabric of the Region of Murcia through research, development, innovation and technology transfer.

BECSA was founded in 1969 and is part of the construction area of Simetría Grupo. Born as a family construction company in Castellón, over the years it grew until it became one of the most important construction companies in the Valencian Community.

With extensive experience in the construction industry, BECSA has executed a multitude of infrastructure projects, including ports, airports, hospitals, roads, hydraulic works and many others, both in the public and private sectors. The company is considered a reference in digitalization technologies such as BIM and new construction materials development/application.

Globalcyclus is a company from Simetría Group dedicated to innovation.
Simetría Group boasts a team of professionals who specialise in the development of R&D&I projects.

Innovation Management is developed by Globalcyclus, which coordinates the different experts of each business to offer energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable solutions. Their R&D activities focus on improving process efficiency, waste management and the development of new materials. Additionally, Globalcyclus concentrates on integrating new technologies that are made for different business areas, enabling them to implement efficient data-driven management practices.

 
 

The University of Stuttgart (USTUTT) is one of the leading technically-oriented universities in Germany with global significance. It positions itself as a center of university-based, non-university, and industrial research. Furthermore, it takes a role as a guarantor of research-based teaching, focused on quality and holism. The “Stuttgart Way” means an interdisciplinary integration of engineering, natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences based on the fundamentals of cutting-edge research at a disciplinary level.

USTUTT’s vision is “intelligent systems for a sustainable society”. Both its Materials Testing Institute (“Building Preservation” and “Mineral Building Materials” departments), accredited as a notified body according to the construction product regulation, and Institute of Construction Materials (part of the faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering), renowned for its research and testing of materials/structures with a focus on LCA of building materials, are contributing to the SNUG project.

CHIMAR is an innovative R&D SME that develops and provides competitive chemical technology and services for the industrial production of adhesives and chemicals, as well as for their application in the manufacture of composite wood-based panels, engineered wood, and impregnated/lamination papers (products used in furniture, building construction, insulation, etc.). The company is a pioneer in technology for bio-based adhesive systems, substituting petrochemical raw materials with renewable ones derived from natural lignocellulosic feedstocks and wastes. Indicative biomaterials studied by CHIMAR include tannin, lignin, lignocellulose, nano/microfibrillated cellulose, pyrolysis oil, liquefied biomass, starch, plant proteins, and vegetable/seed oils.

CHIMAR’s expertise extends to the development of novel bio-composite panels using non-wood biomass materials, agricultural and industrial residues, as well as recycled materials. Its premises include advanced chemical and technical labs and pilots for adhesive and composite wood panel production and evaluation. Promising technology developed by CHIMAR is validated at the industrial scale prior to market introduction.

Founded in 1977, CHIMAR has a worldwide footprint. Today, the particleboard and MDF panels produced using CHIMAR technology and services account for over 10% of the annual global production, while CHIMAR’s estimated market share in the wood adhesive technology market is equal to 33% on a global level.

CRES is the national coordination center of Greece on Renewable Energy and Energy Saving technologies and the official Greek government consultant in National Energy Policy, Strategy, and Planning. It carries out applied research and works as promoter, organiser, and adviser on all aspects of planning and implementation of renewable energies.

Over its 35 years of operation, CRES has participated in more than 800 European and nationally funded projects. These include research and development projects, demonstration projects, projects dealing with energy information systems, feasibility studies, technical and economic studies, market research, and promotional activities to encourage the adoption of RES/RUE/ES technologies. Additionally, CRES has worked multiple times on tasks related to regulatory and financial issues, market analyses and technological state of the art.

With a scientific staff of more than 140 highly experienced and specialised scientists and engineers, CRES has the capacity and know-how to analyse and propose technological, financial and regulatory solutions for different RES and energy efficiency technologies. Furthermore, CRES addresses issues related to awareness and adoption of such systems, as well as relevant social concerns, namely acceptance, support and engagement of local communities and users.

Brimatech Research gGmbH focuses on socio-economic research into new technologies, processes and business models with a special emphasis on sustainable innovations. It is a non-profit research company.

KEEY Aerogel is a French company with an international standing, specializing in the development of aerogel-based solutions.

Austrian Standards International is a recognized standardization body, member of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) and European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).

It uses innovative methods, such as co-creation and open innovation, to prepare standards within the framework of the existing open development processes. Austrian Standards International introduces new topics and technologies into the standards development as early as possible to improve their market prospects right from the start.

Østfold University College (ØUC or HIOF) is a national higher education and research institution located in Fredrikstad and Halden in Norway. ØUC was created in 1994 through the merger of five state colleges in the region, forming a polytechnic offering a wide range of studies. A new main campus was established in Halden in 2006.

ØUC offers around 100 studies taught in new and modern premises. The university college has a total of just under 7,000 students. There are nearly 3,600 ordinary students at the Halden campus, nearly 2,400 ordinary students at the Fredrikstad campus, and nearly 1,000 students are taking continuing and further education programmes under the auspices of HIOF VIDERE (Centre for Continuing Education) at both campuses.

Østfold University College is organized under the following faculties – Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Health, Welfare and Organisation, Faculty of Teacher Education and Languages, and Norwegian Theatre Academy. All the faculties have research groups, with most staff members participating in one or more of these groups. Research groups can focus on specific fields or be interdisciplinary – most involve staff from more than one faculty, and some also have members from other institutions.
